Paolo Corsi
Born in 1980, Paolo Corsi has a passion for harpsichord and ancient music since he was thirteen. He is graduated with mention from the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva (class of Alfonso Fedi); he also studied harpsichord with Christophe Rousset and fortepiano with Pierre Goy, and followed masterclasses with Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Liuwe Tamminga and Bob van Asperen.
He has been choose twice for the European Baroque Academy in Ambronay, the first time in 2004 (conducted by Ch. Rousset) and the second one in 2008 (conducted by S. Saitta). During these academies he played in important concert halls (Royal Opera in Versailles, Auditorium of the Music City in Paris, Opéra of Vichy, Kursaal Hall in San Sebastian..) and he recorded for the radio (Radio France Classique) and television (Arte and Mezzo).
He collaborated with many international soloists (W. Dongois, M. Bourgue, P. Amoyal, E. Cecchi Fedi, G. Bertagnolli, V. Ghielmi, L. Pianca, L. Bertotti, M. Kiener…) and with prestigious ensembles (Modo Antiquo, Camerata de Lausanne, Ensemble Baroque du Leman, Ensemble Amarcordes, Quatuor Terpsycordes…)
In 2009 he founded the baroque ensemble Le Harmoniche Sfere. He also collaborates with Véronique Jamain’s , ensemble Les Ramages since its foundation in 2008. He gives regular concerts playing harpsichord, organ and fortepiano, both as a soloist or a continuo player. He works as accompanist and baroque coach in the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva and he is the main organist in the Sainte-Trinité church in Geneva.
Paolo Corsi is building a collection of ancient keyboard instruments ranging from Eighteenth century harpsichords to early romantic fortepianos; practicing regularly on historical instruments is one of the main features of his philosophy of playing.
